Mothers Day Struggles and NFL Schedule Overs
Remembering important dates can be a challenge for many of us. But the NFL Kicks off in 112 days.
Remembering important dates can be a challenge for many of us. I, like most dads, have a hard enough time remembering my wife and kid's birthdays. So how am I supposed to remember that Mother's Day is the 2nd Sunday of May? Why can't it be the first or the last Sunday of May? Thanksgiving is great. It is the last Thursday of November, and it's perfect. I dont have to buy anyone a gift and lots of football and even more food. How can you compete with a holiday like that?
Considering our fathers before us, they had it much easier than us, Dads. If they happened to forget it was Mother's Day, they could come up with excuses like traffic, forgetting their wallet, or being busy at work. Unfortunately, in this age of the internet, we don't have the luxury of using excuses. Our wives will wonder why we didn't check their Pinterest boards or make a purchase while tweeting on the toilet. We carry our phones everywhere, so ordering flowers or buying a necklace on Amazon is relatively easy. Instead, like every other guy in America, we do what's familiar: rushing to the local grocery store to buy flowers. Seeing numerous dads gathered in the supermarket, all buying the same thing, is quite a sight. The same scenario repeats itself every year.
New York Jets Line 9.5 wins.
Each year, there is a glimmer of hope that the Jets will soar to greatness. From the acquisitions of Brett Favre, Mark Sanchez, and Sam Darnold to Zach Wilson, the team has consistently sought to find its winning formula. Now, the spotlight turns to Aaron Rodgers. But will he be the one to lead them to victory? The NFL seems to be playing its part in supporting this notion, granting the Jets the advantage of 10 home games and even scheduling an away game against their fellow New York team, the Giants. Yes, I think the Jet's defense and Breece Hall should be enough to get them to the playoffs. He may be 40, but all Rodgers has to do is not screw it up. Their line is 9.5 wins. The Jets are an easy lock for double-digit wins this season.
Baltimore Ravens Line 9.5
Lamar is the king of the regular season with a regular season record of 45-16. So I am smashing the over with Baltimore. He has money in the bank and new toys to play with. He will be happy and healthy. Lock Baltimore up for a double-digit win season.
Minnesota Vikings Line 8.5
The Vikings have 5 primetime games. So we can chalk all of those up as losses. Justin Jefferson alone should be able to will this team to 9 wins. All Kirk has to do is force-feed him the ball. Skol clap 9 wins minimum in the new Rodgers-less NFC North.
