Week 12 Waivers: Chasing Chaos and Afternoon RedZone Madness!
It’s 2024—we’ve got RedZone and Sunday Ticket, yet we’re still stuck with just *three* late-afternoon games on Sundays. Come on, NFL, let’s spread the action and make Sunday football even better!
I shared this on X and got a ton of mixed replies. But let’s be real: three games just doesn’t cut it. So, what’s the magic number? Would five late-afternoon games hit the sweet spot? Let’s hear your thoughts! I all for more Madness on Redzone in the afternoon. Will be updating waiver adds through out the day on X.
Teams on Bye for week 12: Falcons, Bills, Bengals, Jaguars, Saints, and Jets.
Quarterbacks to Target
Anthony Richardson (43% rostered): vs. Detroit
Rebounded strong after being benched with two rushing touchdowns and 28 fantasy points. Also had a game winning drive. Looked more comfortable throwing the ball. I am all in on Anthony Richardson once again.
Caleb Williams (53% rostered): vs. MIN
Caleb Williams delivered a solid 16.2 fantasy points against Green Bay and now looks like a potential streaming option as he hosts Minnesota. While the Vikings were one of the best matchups for fantasy QBs earlier this season, they’ve tightened up and now rank 25th. However, consider the competition they’ve faced recently: Joe Flacco, Mac Jones, and Will Levis. This sets up as a great opportunity for Williams to shine.
Russell Wilson (55% rostered): at CLE
It was a tough outing against the Ravens, but he’s got the second-best remaining strength of schedule for quarterbacks. His average defense giving up 17.6 fantasy points per game.
Drake Maye (24% rostered): at Miami
Worst matchup for Fantasy QBs but Drake Maye seems to find a way. I like him more next week vs. Indianapolis.
Running Back Adds
Roschon Johnson (13% rostered): vs. MIN
Benefiting from Chicago’s offensive coordinator shakeup, he showcased his skills on Sunday, though it felt like a bit of a committee. He played 42% of the snaps, logged 10 carries, and punched in a goal-line touchdown. Clearly, he’s the Bears best runner between the tackles. Dont love the matchup.
Trey Benson (31 % rostered) at Seattle
led the team in carries before the bye week. Could get more involved. In week 9 he had 12 FP, and week 10 he had 9 FP. Trending in the right direction.
Cam Akers (22% rostered): at Chicago
Back-to-back double-digit carry games. Caught a TD to salvage his performance last week.
Pylon Poachers- The player you’re praying steals a touchdown or a carry.
Hassan Haskins: vs Baltimore
Surprisingly getting red-zone work. YOLO only.
Carson Steele (3% rostered): at Carolina
Not a YOLO play more of a Go big or go little play, maybe they are beating the Panthers so bad, he gets a tuddy.
Ameer Abdullah and Dylan Laube vs. Denver
Only if Zamir White and Alexsander Mattison miss more time
Wide Receiver Targets
Alec Pierce: (23% rostered) vs. Detroit
He’s been a strong fit for Anthony Richardson's playing style and could be a sneaky sleeper against Detroit. With 4 touchdowns already this season, he’s shown solid fantasy potential, delivering multiple double-digit performances with Richardson targeting him.
Kendrick Bourne (31% rostered): at Miami
Posted a solid day with 70 yards and a touchdown. Low rostered and trending up. Someone needs to step up for Drake Maye.
Devaughn Vele (6% rostered) at Las Vegas
getting more involved each week. Good spot for Nix to include him.
Adam Thielen (34% rostered) vs. Kansas City
Last time we saw him he caught a TD, Bryce Young has looked better the last few games. Tough matchup.
Xavier Legette (47% rostered) vs. Chiefs
Elijah Moore (19% rostered) vs. Pittsburgh
Had a big game against the Saints. Tough matchup but Jameis doesn’t care.
Honorable mention for Quentin Johnston—he’s just above the roster threshold but showing promise.
Tight Ends
Jonu Smith (51% rostered):
Strong game with two touchdowns and 101 yards. A strong add for those needing TE help. Has surpassed Jaylen Waddle as Tua’s 2nd option.
Hunter Henry (49% rostered):
Consistent involvement makes him a safe option, despite a tough matchup against Miami. Been very consistent since the bye week.
Taysom Hill (50% rostered): BYE
worth the stash, lots of upside as long as Olave is out.
Hail Mary Plays
Boom or Bust Flex options
Christian Watson (49% rostered): vs. SF
Exploded for 150 yards on four catches. First 100-yard game of the season, a risky but high-upside pickup.
Nick Westbrook-Ikhin (7% rostered) at Houstin
has caught a TD in 5 of his last 6 games. Not a lot of targets but keeps getting it done.
Marvin Mims (5% rostered) Las Vegas
He scored a touchdown against the Falcons and has had 12 touches over the last three weeks. The Broncos are getting creative in finding ways to get him the ball, as evidenced by his 2 receptions and 3 carries in Sunday's blowout victory.
Week 11 Duds
Quarterback Dud: Russell Wilson (7 points).
Running Back Dud: Jonathan Taylor (6.5 points)
Wide Receiver Dud: Garrett Wilson (3.8 points), suffering from the Jets' offensive struggles.
Tight End Dud: Travis Kelce (1.8 points), shockingly ineffective against Buffalo.
